this music kick is dope
the last 3 days of my musical journey have been amazing. working and going about my daily life with music has been a freshy freshness i have been desperately needing.
mowgli and i play music on a regular basis, but i think i needed fresh sounds and to be reminded of those albums i have always loved, like Trio with Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris, and Linda Ronstadt.
i won't be able to stand for an entire concert for awhile, but one can hope for the future. i don't think i can ever be a hip music snob or ardent connoisseur, but when i pursue music and make an effort to press play i am positively impacted by the goodness.
mowgli says i like girl indie pop. i say mowgli likes crap like Thrice. but he thinks they are the greatest band of all time and doesn't like U2...i take it with a grain of salt, we can agree to disagree and meet in the middle with the Beatles and Jay Z and Timberlake and Arcade Fire and Vampire Weekend, etc, etc.
i used to think making mix tapes/cd's was the greatest form of expression, next to a conversation....ahhaha.
i am due to make a mix tape. i think like a journal, it would be a way to catalogue your life, keeping record.
faithsalutes a indie girl duo from sweden called First Aid Kit. just what i needed, to be all patched up for 2009.
covering a song by Fleet Foxes.
Thrice and Dustin Kensrue are a distant second to the Artist of the Millennium: Weird Al Yankovic.
Respect. Its all we ask.
